Student Finanace Question people who have applied this year?

Has anyone applied for student finance and recieved any correspondences, I have applied a couple of months ago, the only letter i have recieved is one which asked for some documents, that i had already sent.

I read in the daily telegragh that out of million applications which they had recieved by last friday they had approved 870.000 meaning that 170.000 students would be left without student finance, and that some universities are trying to help students by ging to their emergency funds.

Any help would be much appreciated, do you get a letter once your application has been approved?

I have wanted a good pet for as long as i can remember and as soon as I had my own place (well rented)

Last year a got a water dragon and all the bits to go along with it to make her as happy and healthy as poss.

I do have everythign i need now apart from food which costs at least £10 a week at least.

The unfortunate thing is which I am really struggling with is that I am constantly struggling with money…always getting to my overdraft and credit limits….this is every month. Im taking a second job and trying even harder to save more…..but the dragon obviously is an expense. There are other things that could be done 1st like trying to get rid of my car on finance.

I really dont want to gove her up but if I had to take her to a vet or had an emergency…I coulndt afford anything

obviously i’ve thought about what i want to do myself, but i would other peoples opinions.

i want to add a few more computer certs to my cv, i also would really like to do an outdoors activity and an exercising activity. i am also interested in getting some retail and sales certs.

i can handle doing 10 course’s next year, if not, then i’ll do five this and five next year.

with the new job that i just got, i am hoping i can improve my cv, by this time next year. i want to look back and say, i deserve all the praise i get. i’ve got a feeling it’s gonna b a long 1

Should more life skills, such as first aid, budgeting for emergencies/ family financing, cooking?

How do I calculate my take-home pay after emergency tax and National Insurance are deducted from salary in UK?

I am terrible with math, so could someone please provide a formula for me to calculate how much pay I will be receiving after I am taxed at the emergency tax code and National Insurance has been deducted.

My salary is £20,387.

I just moved to the UK and I am trying to figure out my finances as I am scared that my rent might me too high. No one at work has given any answers, and I have been told to just wait until my pay arrives in a few weeks.

My employer is going to fast track an application for National Insurance number. According to them, that will mean that my tax will be lower, as I will no longer be at emergency tax once I have my NI number.

my course starts on the 3rd of october and my finance is completely messed i need to contact them as quick as possible to resolve the problerm.

ps. is there any chance i can cancel my claim for year 09/10 and re-apply next year, will this affect my claim by any chance.

Am i eligible to claim back my emergency tax at the end of the financial year?

i’m an 18 year old working in the british isles following A-levels trying to raise some last minute pocket money to finance a 9 month trip to canada at the end of november. i’ve been working part time [13.5 hours] at a pet shop for the last 21 months but have recently started some temping work as an administrator during the week. my hours are varying between 35 and 45 hours per week and hence i am paying emergency tax on my second wage. as this is only a temporary job lasting no longer than 2 months is it likely that i will be able to claim this tax back at the end of the financial year?
i would ask my employers at the temping agency but they are sadly proving to be unreliable and somewhat dim-witted and i would appreciate the advice of somebody that understands the system.
