What career am I good for?

with one comment

I left uni with a 2:2 in economics.

I worked for 2 years as a financial adviser.

I then joined a private equity firm, and was assistant manager on a Venture Capital fund. After 4 years I left and wanted to try running a real business rather than just pushing spreadsheets and going to meetings, so I setup a small printing and design company.

I am now selling this business and need to find a new line of work. Trouble is I’m at a loss as to what I could/should do next. I have good analytical financial and managerial skills. I am also a self starter with a solid career and entrepreneurial history. Beyond that I don’t really have any special skills as such.

I would normally look for another job in finance, but with the City in the state it’s in at the moment I think that’s unlikely. Also I am quite open to moving out of London since my wife and I might like to start a family but would prefer to be in a ‘greener’ part of the world for that.

I would ideally be aiming for a job around £40k, but would drop for the right opportunity if the career path was there to rebuild up again.

Any suggestions would be welcome, as I’m not sure where to start looking.

I have already rimit 550 GBP to them.the name of the?

Can I get a mortgage as a student if I rented out the 2nd bedroom to help cover the rent. I have a deposit.?

with one comment

I’m currently studying osteopathy in London and have just under 2 more years to go on my course. I’d really like to get on the property ladder at the beginning of 2007, and would like to know if anyone is aware of any banks who might be prepared to give me a mortgage. My income includes my student loan and money obtained from part-time work, and I would be looking to rent out the 2nd bedroom to help cover the cost of repayment whilst I finish my studies. I am able to pay a deposit and am sure my mother would be happy to act as guarantor. I already pay out a fortune in rent and have had no problems with repayments or managing my personal finances. Thank you for your answers!

What is available in Spain in terms of Financial/Banking job opportunities?

with one comment

…and how does it compare with the opportunities in London in terms of pay?

I am studying a Banking & Finance degree from LSE and want to consider all options. I think the prospect of working in a warmer climate in a (possibly) cheaper location is very exciting…

Many thanks,

sk.

PS: before you ask, my Spanish is pretty good :)
Cindy…. why did you defile my question with your s**tty answer?
